Palm Pre Sold-Out in a Matter of Hours
Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at 5:05 PM Palm Pre (which was released on June 6th) was sold out in a matter of hours. Part of the reason for the quick sell out was that larger cities (such as Chicago) were only given 30 to 50 phones, in total. New shipments aren't scheduled until June 10th.
One has to think that this was an ploy pulled by Palm to build a market for their phone.
One issue recently brought to light was a screen discoloration problem, that appeared only hours after the phone's release.
Palm is a multi-billion dollar company, which begs the question of why there was a limited release, and how soon will Palm be in bankruptcy court?
