Upgrading From Windows Vista to Windows 7: Part 2
Saturday, July 11, 2009 at 11:37 AM Some of you may remember a previous post I wrote (found here), where I spoke of the craziness I endured while upgrading to Windows 7. My beautiful wife, Tara, has been using Windows 7 for the last two weeks. Here is some of her likes and dislikes.
She is impressed by the improved boot time. It has cut her wait time by more than half (on both BIOS to Login, and Login to useable desktop). The nicety she first found was the snipping tool. It enables her to snip out a section of her desktop, and save it as a image file. She then found out how easy it was to change the colors, look, and feel of the desktop. She also like the new design of the Windows Taskbar. One of her later finds was that she had issue with (in Vista) was searching for Windows utilities. She would attempt to search for the Disk Defragmenter in Vista (searching for "defrag"), and would get nothing. She noticed, in Windows 7, that if she entered "de" into the search box, Disk Deframenter was in the results pane.
The only thing she mentioned (as far as dislikes go), was that some of her Real Arcade games did not work and had to be reinstalled.
My wife is by no means a Power User. But, I do believe that she is what a everyday computer user is. She uses it, and feels that it is insignificant how it works, as long as it does. This, I think, is a normal user's review of Windows 7 RC.
