Who Else Completely Missed This Yesterday?
Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at 11:54 AM According to the Google Blog (found here), it seems as though Google has ambitions to release a Google Chrome OS sometime in the second quarter of 2010. The new project will be open source and targeted at the netbook market.
According to their blog, "Speed, simplicity and security are the key aspects of Google Chrome OS. We're designing the OS to be fast and lightweight, to start up and get you onto the web in a few seconds. The user interface is minimal to stay out of your way, and most of the user experience takes place on the web."
As with many of the Google products I use, on a daily basis, I only see great things coming from this. Android is a winner, in my book, and I am sure it's greatness will be a part of this endeavor.
You can read more about it on Google's Blog.

I heard about it a while back man, but would be hesitant to try it until after others had although I could take one of my loaner's and set up. Maybe I will try it. Take care man.
I didn't miss it. I ignored it. Will it work on a Mac? Better than OS X? I don't think so.....
Yoshi, I had heard rumors of it, but I was more talking about the full on announcement that came yesterday, that it seems, went completely under the radar until this morning. I knew with all of the love Android has gotten in the netbook market, that this was only a matter of time. Thanks for your comment, brother!
Matches: Ah, another Apple fanboy. I feel you on that one. Will it work on a Mac, I'm sure of it. A Mac's hardware is virtually identical to that of a Dell, HP, etc. Now, will it be better than OSX, probably not. It is designed and targeted for the netbook market. So, will it run better on the Dell Mini 9's and Acers that people "Hackintosh," probably. The only thing it might beat OSX on is boot time, though with the advances in flash, there will soon be a time where boot time is almost non-existent . Thanks for your comment!
